Wear of the TBM cutterhead and tools consumption

The study of the morphological and mineralogical characteristics of the soil combined with the execution of abrasion and wear laboratory tests, some of which specifically developed by GEEG, allow to predict the extent of the wear risk that the excavation of coarse-grained soil or rocks entails.

For TBM-EPB these studies allow to highlight the effect of the conditioning process, the effectiveness of a conditioning agent or the dosage needed to maximize its lubricating effect.
